Day 1 (till Christmas) – Thursday

Santa is back at the North Pole getting ready for tonight…but he went out with a bang!

Wednesday was our biggest night of the year!  Headlights as far as you could see (which is about a block due to the bend in the road) for 3 hours straight.  Bus traffic was down, but limos were up.  Because of the warm temps, only one 15 minute period of light rain and Santa being there,  walkers were plentiful (probably the most of the season).

Tonight is Christmas Eve and is traditionally another big night for visitors, but with the rain forecast they will probably stay in their cars.  But then, we’ve had rain forecast several times and it has stayed away for the light show (or been very light for brief periods)…we will see how it works out.  I have 2 men scheduled for traffic flow (plus myself, of course), so we should be able to keep them moving.

Had to fix a couple of figures that “runners” (and they were not kids, although they acted like it) messed up in my display, but it was not a big deal.  Guess a 42″ high fence of lights is not big enough to keep them out of the display area.   Fortunately, it has only happened twice this year (as far as I know).

‘Preciate the light show every year for the past five-six. I’ve got an 11, 8, 5 and 2 that’ll be coming to see you right after Christmas. We are hoping that you are still running and that the line goes down….

My 8 fell asleep two years back and was teased and hassled by her sisters about it ever since. Thanks for all that you do and Merry Christmas!

    God bless,

    John
