Friday – 17 Days to Christmas 2013

Its been a relatively easy week with evenly spaced cars and numerous walkers.  Wednesday night was absolutely beautiful.  Temps were in the high 60’s to low 70’s and it was just a wonderful night to be out.  I had hoped for considerable traffic, but it was rather slow with only one busy period between 7:00 and 8:15.

Last night we had a cold rain all evening.  Started off the day at 69 degrees and by afternoon it was in the low 40’s with better than 2 inches of rain.  But we had at least 3 busses and one limo (thats all I saw but I was busy in my workshop doing repairs).  Everything lit up as it was suppose to, despite the heavy rain.  Only casualty was the carousel, which tumbled on its side when it pulled out a stake in the wet ground.  I pulled it back upright and surprisingly only a few lights were not working.

Still raining today with temps hovering just above freezing and forecast to hit freezing this afternoon.  We are on the edge of the forecasted ice belt this afternoon and evening so it will be interesting to see how it turns out.  Everything was really suppose to kick off tonight, but I expect that alot of the tours have been postponed or cancelled.  I’ll be down directing traffic, if it isn’t icy.

Saturday is forecast to be in the mid 30’s, but no precip until late (ice & snow maybe?).  Sunday afternoon and evening should be OK.  I am looking forward to big turnout.

Have picked up several more states, but the list is sitting in my golf cart.  I’ll bring my state list up to date on the next post.
